Perfect Storm Quartet represents Emerald City Chorus, Region 25 Heart of America, and Sweet Adelines International. We are four women who share the same love of music and entertaining audiences in 4-part a cappella style. In October 2017, we competed at the Sweet Adelines International Competition in Las Vegas with the top barbershop quartets in the world. We are very proud of our two regional 2nd place and one regional 3rd place medals.
PERFECT STORM Lead,NICOLE EVANS has been involved with Sweet Adelines since she was 13 years old, well to be more precise since she was 9 months old. Her mother, co-director of Emerald City chorus - Dana Evans, joined Sweet Adelines when Nicole was 9 months old. She literally has grown up singing barbershop. She currently serves the Emerald City chorus as lead section leader and choreographer. In her outside life, Nicole is a 5th grade teacher at Cleaveland Traditional College and Career Readiness Magnet in Wichita. She has one handsome and wonderful son named Blaze. Nicole's passion is everything music. There is never a time when music isn't playing in her life.
PERFECT STORMBass, CINDY DUGGAN serves as section leader for Emerald City Chorus and has been a Sweet Adeline since 1991 when her mother enticed her to join “Coronado Country Chorus” in Lyons. She worked at the Lyons Salt Company for 28 years, 18 of them underground. Cindy moved to Andover in 2006 when she met and married the love of her life Wayne. They have four successful children, Bill, Kara, Joshua and Chris, and 11 ornery, active amazing grandkids. She likes to sew and makes handbags with her mom. She also gardens and cans salsa during the summer.
PERFECT STORM Baritone,CARLA ELKINS joined the quartet in July 2018. She has been with Sweet Adelines since 2001 and shares the experience with her sister. Carla sings baritone in the Emerald City Chorus and is currently the Events Manager as well as Tech Manager. She has worked 27 years for Via Christi Clinic as Referral Specialist. When Carla isn’t singing or working, she loves to travel and spend time with her family. She also recently built her forever home which she is enjoying while living next to her sister.
PERFECT STORM Tenor, LISA MURRY has 30 years of barbershop experience and currently sings tenor for Emerald City Chorus. Lisa competed with the quartet as baritone at first but made the switch to tenor to sing with awesome baritone Carla. During the day she works for Wolterskluwer in Senior Software Support but music is her passion. She shares this passion with her jazz musician husband Ray and two sons, Ray and Tyler.
