| 2008 Emerald City Chorus - First Competition |
Emerald City Chorus members can attest to the fact that dreams do come true!
In late 2006 we envisioned a vibrant and thoroughly motivated chorus with new goals and visions. Most of all we wanted
to have fun! As we come together each week for rehearsal, we experience wonderful camaraderie, the best possible musical education
and the exhilarating feeling of singing one of America's original art forms, barbershop harmony. Goosebumps have
been known to appear on many occasions!
November 27, 2007 - The Emerald City
Chorus currently numbers more than 30 members and has just chartered as a full-fledged chapter of Sweet
Adelines International.
Sweet
Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop
harmony through education and performances. This independent, nonprofit music education association is one of the world's
largest singing organizations for women. "Harmonize the World" is the organization's motto.
The international
membership of nearly 27,000 women, all singing in English, includes choruses in most of the fifty United States as well as
in Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Wales and the Netherlands.
There are also prospective choruses in Denmark, Greece and United Arab Emirates. The organization encompasses more than 1,200
registered quartets and 600 choruses.

| Emerald City Chorus - 2008 Competition |
Emerald City Chorus Competition at Overland Park, April
5, 2008 The Emerald City Chorus competed in our first regional competition
on April 5, 2008. In a field of 15 choruses in Region 7, we scored 519 points to finish one point out of 5th place. We are
proud of this accomplishment as a brand new chorus with seven new members that have joined the chorus since the first of the
year.
