| Melissa, Judy, Dana, Kim - Aurora Quartet |
In the summer of 2011, four women walked into a room, sang
a song they all knew, were thrilled with what they heard, and Aurora was born. This new barbershop quartet,
named for the Goddess of the Dawn, won third place in their first regional contest. Melissa, Dana, Kim
and Judy live in three different cities in two adjacent states, traveling to practices and performances on weekends.
Within the quartet you will find: a music
teacher, a retired music teacher, a college student, a retired opera singer, three voice teachers, a church organist, a juvenile
probation administrative assistant and four chorus directors. Between them they have five dogs, seven cats,
three significant others, two children and one grandchild. Besides music, other interests include, knitting,
quilting, sewing, reading, playing bridge and traveling.
What
began as a hobby is now a passion for these four ladies and they would love to share their close four-part harmonies with
