While
having a passionate and serious attitude makes one intense – the ladies of INTENSITY quartet bring not only a serious
quality barbershop sound but also some INTENSE fun! They represent Emerald City Chorus and Sweet Adelines
International entertaining audiences with their smooth 4-part a cappella style.
INTENSITY Lead, LISA
MURRY is a Certified Assistant Director and lead section specialist for Emerald City Chorus. She
also serves as a member of the education faculty of Region 7 Sweet Adelines International. During the day
she is a customer service representative for an income tax software provider but music is her passion. She shares this passion
with her jazz musician husband Ray and her two football star sons, Ray and Tyler. She enjoys shopping, traveling, and scrap-booking.
The smooth Bass of INTENSITY is CINDY DUGGAN. Cindy serves as bass section specialist for Emerald
City Chorus. Having been in Sweet Adelines since 1991 when her mother enticed her to join the “Coronado
Country Chorus” in Lyons with her, Cindy would much rather sing than shop. She worked for the Lyons Salt Company for
twenty-eight years, eighteen of them underground as a drill operator. Cindy re-married in 2006 and moved to Andover. Her husband
Wayne volunteers with the chorus as Santa for the Christmas Season and is a Sweet Adeline groupie. Between them they have
four children, Bill, Kara, Joshua and Chris, and seven grandchildren. As she learns to be a housewife and explore her hobbies,
she has found her favorite so far is demolition and no home remodeling project has stopped her yet!
TRACY
WINGATE, our INTENSITY Baritone is a relative newcomer to barbershop, having joined Sweet Adelines just 6 years ago.
But harmony is in her genes, as her father sang for most of his life in one barbershop quartet or another.
Tracy spent many years as a corporate trainer in the Washington DC area, but moved to Wichita 5 years ago.
She now keeps very busy taking care of her three small boys, her husband, and her 2 dogs. When she
is not singing, chasing her children or cleaning, you can usually find Tracy at the gym or settling down with a cup of tea
and a good book. Tracy also serves as Quartet Promotion Chair for the Emerald City Chorus.
CLARE
PAUL, the tenor for INTENSITY, started singing along with Mitch Miller in the living room and progressed to serenading
the birds from the back yard swing. Despite almost swallowing a pine cone thrown by her sisters as she warbled through a favorite
passage of Iolanthe, she persisted and finally made it to the real stage as a performer. Succumbing to the pressures of the
outside world, she has a daytime gig as an engineer (which probably explains why she sings baritone in the chorus.) Her very
domestic husband does everything he can to make it easy to rush from work to rehearsals, and understands that quartet practice
in the living room trumps every televised sporting event.
