Great News! On November 27, 2007 the Emerald
City Chorus team leader and co-directors received notification from International that we are now officially a chartered Sweet
Adeline chorus.
2008
Vicki Maybury, director of the Skyline Chorus in Denver, an international judge and coach, was here to coach the chorus
at our retreat weekend, February 15 and 16.
Before that though, we all attended the Region 7 Regional
Education Symposium on January 25th and 26th in Overland Park. The chorus was coached by international coach Sharon Babb
and was also feted on Saturday by the region with a "Baby Shower" to celebrate our charter that happened in November,
2007.
Emerald City Chorus Charter Party - March 8, 2008
The Emerald City Chorus hosted our official
Charter Party, We're Going Green, on March 8, 2008 at the
Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100W. 15th St., Wichita, KS from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
City of Wichita Mayor Carl
Brewer and Wichita City Council proclaimed March 8, 2008 as "EMERALD CITY CHORUS DAY"
in the City of Wichita.
Attending the event were families, friends and supporters of the Emerald City Chorus.
The charter was presented to Emerald City Team Leader Janice Brown by Janet Davis, Region 7 Management Team Membership Coordinator.
Also attending from the region was Sandy Smith, Communications Coordinator.
